South Downs Way - Double 2021

Having successfully completed a SDD ride last year with my good friend, Nick Dwyer, I had an idea of what worked & what didn't. I also appreciated just how tough a challenge it is & that with the best preparation in the world, you still needed more than your fair share of good fortune to complete the ride!

After my 2020 effort I knew my bike setup was good (although I had changed my drivetrain & brakes to SLX & my tyres to Mezcals). At... more

    South Downs Way - DOUBLE

The plan to ride 'The Double' came about by accident really - During a telephone discussion between myself & my good friend, Nick Dwyer, we talked about riding the SDW. A big problem identified was how to get to the start / back from the finish. A bit of a logistical ball-ache living where we do, near 'the middle'. Of course, the sensible thing to do for soooo many reasons is to start & finish from home. Simples! In fact, the only reason in the 'against' column for this plan was the... more

Propel Bikes 'Socially Distanced' Solo Ride Series

    Why?

The current lockdown restrictions due to the Corona Virus pandemic are effecting everyone in many different ways. The government recognizes the importance of daily excercise for both your physical AND mental wellbeing, and as such allows you to leave your home once a day to walk, run or cycle alone or with members of your household.

*edit* easing of restrictions allows us to excercise freely.

Anyone who regularly rides a bike will testify th... more

Temporary closure due to Corona Virus - 24/04/2020

Following the Prime Ministers address last night I shall be temporarily closing the workshop doors* until further notice. I am aware that bicycle shops are listed in government guidance notes as retail business' exempt from compulsory closure, however, as a one person owner-operated business the more compelling advice under the current conditions is to stay at home unless absolutely essential.

Recently I have commented on how lucky I am to do a job that I love doing,... more
